Kaggle is an online platform for data science and machine learning where users work with datasets, notebooks, models, benchmarks, and competitions. It also provides programmatic access to those resources through its public API tooling and MCP server.
Kaggle exposes an OAuth 2.0 provider API, a remote MCP server at https://www.kaggle.com/mcp, and an official Kaggle CLI authenticated by OAuth or Kaggle-issued tokens/API credentials.

In Kaggle API settings, choose Create New Token. Kaggle downloads a kaggle.json file containing your API credentials. For CLI use, place that file at ~/.kaggle/kaggle.json (Linux/macOS) or C:\Users\<Windows-username>\.kaggle\kaggle.json as described in Public API docs.
In Kaggle Settings, generate a new token and copy it. The MCP docs say the token should begin with KGAT. Send it as Authorization: Bearer <token> when your MCP client cannot do OAuth 2.0.
