Mailtrap is an email platform for developers and product teams to send transactional and bulk email, test email safely in sandbox environments, and manage related templates, analytics, and account resources. It also provides AI-oriented integrations around those email capabilities.
Mailtrap exposes authenticated REST APIs on `mailtrap.io/api` plus dedicated sending endpoints on `send.api.mailtrap.io` and `bulk.api.mailtrap.io`, an official stdio MCP server package (`mcp-mailtrap`), and an official CLI repository; all documented auth uses Mailtrap API tokens.

In the Mailtrap app, open API Tokens, create a token, and grant the required resource permissions. For Email API sending, docs also direct you to Email API/SMTP → API Tokens → Add Token. Store the token securely; docs state it can be sent either as Authorization: Bearer {api_token} or Api-Token: {api_token}, and it does not expire unless you reset it manually.
