Authenticate to Google Cloud and obtain an access token as described in Authenticate to IAM. The easiest paths are to use your existing gcloud CLI credentials or Application Default Credentials (ADC) to mint a short-lived OAuth 2.0 bearer token with scopes such as https://www.googleapis.com/auth/cloud-platform.
