Firebase App Distribution is a Firebase service for distributing pre-release Android and iOS app builds to testers and groups. It lets teams upload builds, manage testers, and share releases before public app store release.
Firebase App Distribution exposes a Google-authenticated REST API at https://firebaseappdistribution.googleapis.com and is also accessible through the Firebase CLI (`firebase`).

Enable the Firebase App Distribution API. Then authenticate using Google Cloud authentication to obtain an OAuth 2.0 access token for scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/cloud-platform. The easiest headless path in Firebase docs is to create and use a service account key, then fetch an access token (the Firebase blog shows oauth2l fetch --credentials /path/to/service-account.json --scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/cloud-platform).
$ firebase loginAcquired by the CLI — running firebase login opens the auth flow and stores the credential.
Install the Firebase CLI, then run firebase login:ci to generate a token for non-interactive environments. Pass it to the CLI via the FIREBASE_TOKEN environment variable. Firebase docs describe this as a legacy option for CI/headless use.
