Use Google Cloud authentication to obtain an OAuth 2.0 access token for Google APIs. The easiest local path is to install the gcloud CLI and run `gcloud auth application-default login` or `gcloud auth login`. For server-to-server use, create a service account and key from the Google Cloud Console Credentials page, or use an attached/impersonated service account as described in Authenticate for using REST.

In the Google Cloud Console Credentials page, choose Create credentials → API key. Restrict the key as recommended in Use API keys to access APIs. Some Google Cloud APIs accept API keys for requests that do not require user or service account authorization; if a method requires IAM authorization, use an OAuth access token instead.
