TranscriptAPI provides programmatic access to YouTube transcripts, video metadata, search, channel browsing, and playlist listing. It offers these capabilities through a REST API and a Model Context Protocol server for AI assistants.
TranscriptAPI exposes two developer integration surfaces on transcriptapi.com: a REST API at `https://transcriptapi.com/api/v2` authenticated with a bearer API key, and an OAuth-protected MCP server at `https://transcriptapi.com/mcp` that supports self-onboarding via Dynamic Client Registration plus a documented API-key fallback.

Sign in to TranscriptAPI and create or copy an API key from the API Keys dashboard. Use it as a bearer token in the Authorization header: Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY.
Point your MCP client at the server URL and approve access in the browser. The server supports OAuth Dynamic Client Registration (RFC 7591), so the client registers itself automatically — no developer-portal app, client_id, or client_secret to create.
