First get your app ID and a secret key from the TalkJS dashboard Settings page. Then generate a JWT on your backend with payload `{ tokenType: 'admin' } and claims including issuer: <APP_ID>`; sign it with your TalkJS secret key. The REST API guide recommends creating a fresh short-lived token for each request.

In the TalkJS dashboard, open Settings. Under secret keys, click Create new secret key, then copy the key value. The docs state secret keys are used for authenticating the REST API directly and for signing TalkJS JWTs; keep the key on your backend only.
