Authorization: Basic or Bearer <credential>

In the Tailscale admin console, open the Keys page and generate an API access token in the API access tokens section. The API reference says these tokens are for individual users, inherit that user's permissions, can expire in 1–90 days, and are identifiable by the prefix tskey-api-.

In the Tailscale admin console, open OAuth clients and create an OAuth client as described in OAuth clients. Tailscale issues a client_id and client_secret (secret prefix tskey-client-). Use them with the OAuth 2.0 client credentials flow to mint short-lived API access tokens for the Tailscale API.
