Use Google Cloud authentication as described in Authenticate to Pub/Sub Lite. Easiest paths are to run gcloud auth application-default login for local development or attach a Google Cloud service account to your workload so Application Default Credentials can mint access tokens automatically. The REST API requires the https://www.googleapis.com/auth/cloud-platform scope.
