In the Permit dashboard at app.permit.io, go to Settings → API Keys and create an API key. The API docs say to get the API key from Settings → API Keys before calling the API. This key is also used by Permit SDKs, the CLI (--api-key), and self-hosted PDP/MCP-related components via environment variables like PERMIT_API_KEY or PDP_API_KEY.
