Create an internal connection in the Developer portal, then open its Configuration tab and copy the Installation access token. You must be a Workspace Owner, and the pages/databases you want the bot to access must be shared with the connection via Add connections or the portal’s content access controls. See Internal connections and Authorization.

Open the Developer portal, create a personal access token, choose the workspace and capability bundles, then copy the token. PATs act as the user who created them and are intended for personal/developer-owned workflows. See Personal access tokens.

Point your MCP client at the server URL and approve access in the browser. The server accepts a Client ID Metadata Document (CIMD), so the client authenticates with its own hosted URL as the client_id — nothing to register.
