Authorization: Bearer <credential> /Authorization: Basic <credential> /?token=<credential>

Create an account or sign in via IPinfo signup / IPinfo dashboard. Generate or copy your API token there; IPinfo docs state a free token is available from signup. This same token is used for the REST API, MCP server, and CLI. On HTTP surfaces it can be sent as Authorization: Bearer <TOKEN>, as HTTP Basic username with an empty password, or as the token query parameter.
