$ ibmcloud login --apikey <API_KEY>

In the IBM Cloud console, go to Manage user API keys, then open Manage > Access (IAM) > API keys and click Create an IBM Cloud API key. Save the key when it is shown; IBM notes it is only available to copy or download at creation time. You can also create one with the CLI using ibmcloud iam api-key-create NAME after logging in.
