In the HouseCanary Developer Center, click New API Key (or New Test API Key for Data Explorer testing) to generate an API Key and API Secret. Save both immediately because the secret cannot be retrieved later. The same credential pair is used with HTTP Basic auth against HouseCanary APIs and can also be exported as HOUSECANARY_API_USERNAME and HOUSECANARY_API_PASSWORD for the MCP package.
This token is issued during HouseCanary Integration Partner onboarding for the Order Manager Partner API. During onboarding, HouseCanary provisions your account and gives you a unique API token plus owner_organization_id and owner_id values for accounts you may act on behalf of. Send the token as Authorization: Token {YOUR_UNIQUE_TOKEN}.
