groundcover.com
groundcover is an observability platform for cloud-native and on-prem environments. It uses eBPF-based instrumentation to collect and analyze metrics, logs, traces, and related operational data.
groundcover exposes a REST-style HTTP API for metrics, logs, and platform actions, a legacy datasource HTTP API, an MCP server, and an official CLI; documented auth uses API keys, legacy datasource keys, and MCP OAuth.

Create a service account first if needed under Settings → Access → Service Accounts in the groundcover UI, then go to Settings → Access → API Keys and create a new API key bound to that service account. Admins can create and revoke keys. See API Keys and Service Accounts.
Mint the legacy datasource key with the groundcover CLI by running groundcover auth get-datasources-api-key and selecting a tenant. This legacy key is used for direct datasource access to ClickHouse and VictoriaMetrics. See Datasource API Keys (Legacy).
Point your MCP client at the server URL and approve access in the browser. The server supports OAuth Dynamic Client Registration (RFC 7591), so the client registers itself automatically — no developer-portal app, client_id, or client_secret to create.
