Create or select a Google Cloud project in the Google Cloud Console, then open APIs & Services → Credentials and create an OAuth 2.0 Client ID. Configure the consent screen and request the Google Fit scopes your app needs. Google Fit docs note that the REST API uses OAuth 2.0 and that as of May 1, 2024, new developers cannot sign up to use these APIs; existing approved apps can obtain user access tokens through Google's OAuth flow and send them as Authorization: Bearer <access_token>.
