cartesia.ai
Cartesia provides voice AI APIs and tools for text-to-speech, speech-to-text, voice cloning/localization, and conversational agents. Its platform includes developer APIs plus hosted and local MCP access for AI clients.
Cartesia exposes a versioned HTTPS API at `https://api.cartesia.ai` (including realtime WebSocket endpoints), a public unauthenticated API status endpoint, a hosted MCP server at `https://mcp.cartesia.ai/mcp`, and a local `cartesia-mcp` CLI/server package authenticated with Cartesia credentials.

Create an API key in the Cartesia Playground keys page. Use it from trusted server-side environments; docs show it in either the Authorization: Bearer <api_key> header or the X-Api-Key header. The key format is sk_car_....
If you are an organization admin, create an admin API key at the Cartesia Playground admin keys page. These keys are separate from standard API keys, use the format sk_car_admin_..., and are required for admin routes such as usage and API-key metadata. Send them as Authorization: Bearer <admin_api_key>.
Point your MCP client at the server URL and approve access in the browser. The server supports OAuth Dynamic Client Registration (RFC 7591), so the client registers itself automatically — no developer-portal app, client_id, or client_secret to create.
